BJJ is for Everybody

 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu offers everybody - regardless of age, gender, or physical strength - the opportunity to learn effective self defense in a fun, safe environment. To cater to different ability and experience levels, we offer two levels of BJJ classes. 


 We offer classes in Gi, NoGi, advanced, beginning fundamentals and self-defense classes for adults. 


People start training martial arts for many different reasons: fitness, fun, self-defense, self-confidence, competition, or maybe just for a hobby. Regardless of the reason, you'll notice benefits both on and off the mats. Jiu jitsu will teach you how to effectively overcome opponents who are bigger or stronger than you, all in a safe environment. Jiu jistu is more than just a martial art though, it's a community. You'll make new friends, gain confidence, and get fit! 


 Our advanced classes focus on more difficult techniques, and how to link those techniques together into a sequence. Everyone at Rilion Gracie Academy push one another to be stronger and more technical, a spirit espoused and practiced by all of our members.

Kids Self Defense Ages 3-14

We take great pride in our kids martial arts program. These are our future champions. Martial arts don't just teach self-defense.  Kids martial arts in Houston allows for safer communities. They learn discipline, respect, focus, and empathy. Our kid's programs are focused on making learning self defense techniques not only fun, but educational. The lessons your child learns on the mat will be carried with them off the mat, and throughout the rest of their life, as well. Parents always tell us stories of how their child used the lessons they used in jiu-jitsu class to deal with bullies, work harder on their homework, or stand up for a friend. Plus, they get a great workout and make new friends!

Basic Program


Rilion Gracie Academy offers a two-fold approach to developing skills for Kids and Juniors.

Each class consists of physical exercises, self-defense techniques and educational games.

Our method will develop your child's coordination, confidence,  agility, and flexibility in a fun and safe environment.

Muay Thai & Mixed Martial Arts - MMA

Muay Thai

Learn Muay Thai from the legendary Chute Boxe lineage.  

Muay Thai is referred to as “The Art of Eight Limbs”; and using eight points of contact the body mimics weapons of war. The hands become the sword and dagger; the shins and forearms were hardened in training to act as armor against blows, and the elbow to fell opponents like a heavy mace or hammer; the legs and knees became the axe and staff. The body operated as one unit. The knees and elbows constantly searching and testing for an opening while grappling and trying to spin an enemy to the ground for the kill.

The King of Thailand is an avid fan of Muay Thai. Since being crowned its popularity has grown more than in any other era in history.

Self Defense

Be confident in any situation. Knowing how to defend yourself is one of the most important skills everybody should have. Learning proper techniques that allow you to effectively disarm a threatening situation will give you the confidence to take on anything.

Women's Violence Prevention

Women can use the self defense techniques learned in Jiu Jitsu to prevent attacks, since most attacks occur or end on the ground. Strategic grips and proper application of leverage and body weight distribution allows women to escape from attackers standing or on the ground.  


Kids self defense in Houston. Children will learn that they don't need to punch and kick in order to control someone and protect themselves from bullying. They will learn how to apply Self-Defense techniques on a resisting training partner who's counteracting with his or her own moves. And most importantly it will build the required self-confidence to walk away from any physical encounter.
